I am using Corel Video Studio X8. (18.0.1.26 64bit Pro).
I have captured video using Video Studio Screen Capture Capture.
I am capturing a web tutorial using Google chrome browser.
The default format is wmv and frame rate is 30 frames/second.
I have rendered video as follows:
MPEG AVC (1920 x 1080, 25p, 15Mbps)
MPEG-4 Files
24 bits, 1920 x 1080, 25 fps
Frame-based
H.264 High Profile Video: 15000 Kbps
48000 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo
MPEG AAC Audio: 256 Kbps.
I'm happy with the video quality with the exception of where I have used freeze frame. The quality of freeze frame sections is clearly lower than quality of rest of video.
Freeze Frame Quality is Noticeably Lower Than Rest of Video

I may be wrong, but what were your Project Properties? I ask since I understand that when you freeze a frame, it takes on the Properties of the Project, rather than the Properties you are outputting to or even the Properties of the original clip. So if Project Properties are less than your output Properties, this could account for the lower quality of the freeze frame.

Many thanks Ken. I didn't know about the existence of project properties. I 've checked them and my frame size was too small So I've increased it and that seems to have solved the problem.
