How to divide an image into sections to print
I want to divide an image into sections and then print each to be then rejoined as the larger result. I will be printing the divided images onto fabric (8.5x11") and then sewing them together. I need a small border on each one.

Just divide your image in individual parts (Crop Tool) and print them separately.

Select the Crop tool and for example I will suppose that you want a large image broken into quarters.
Set the crop tool so that it has half the height and half the width of your image.
Position the crop square / rectangle over the top left part of your image. Then click the Crop as new image button.
Move your crop rectangle (from the centre part) to its new position top right and then click Crop as New Image.
Continue this to prodice 4 new images each 1/4 of your original. You can then print each of these out, save and print out later, add a border etc.

Further to what @hartpaul said, it helps to have a bit more info about the image you are going to divide into pieces. These are the assumptions I made from your post:hartpaul wrote:Select the Crop tool and for example I will suppose that you want a large image broken into quarters.
Set the crop tool so that it has half the height and half the width of your image.
Position the crop square / rectangle over the top left part of your image. Then click the Crop as new image button.

1) You have the image sized in PSP at 8.5 x 11 inches;
2) You have it set at a reasonable print resolution - i.e., 200 or 300 pixels per inch.
3) That the above is your standard starting procedure with all images you want to slice up and print.
If that is the case, then a solution like that provided by @hartpaul is a good one to start. But then I would suggest that you record the procedure as a script so that you can automatically run it when your image is ready and it will automatically process all of the steps for you. You can do the same using selections to copy and paste each section of the photo. To do such a script correctly might take some tweaking so it depends on how many times you might want to do this to determine whether or not it is worth creating a script to do the job.

Re: How to divide an image into sections to print
PSP has an Image Slicer tool that might suit you needs. It's located on the Web toolbar (View -> Toolbars ->Web) Or alternatively go to File -> Export - Image Slicer.
If you select the grid tool within Image Slicer you can specify the number of rows and columns you want you image sliced into. Just click on the button that looks like a grid and then click on the preview window. You will get a dialog box where you can specify number of rows, etc. There is also a drop down box where you can specify image format (gif, png, jpg). Next just "Save As" to a folder where you want to store your sliced up image for printing.
Hope this helps.

Re: How to divide an image into sections to print
Thanks for that Kathy. I had thought that PSP had once had an image slicer but before I replied to this post I couldn't find it so thought it had been discontinued. Don't understand why they would hide it in a separate toolbar as if its only use would be for website output or even in Export. It seems more logical to me that it be in the Crop (or even Selections) options. However, with customization a person could add it to whatever tool or menu dropdown that works best for their workflow.Kathy_9 wrote:PSP has an Image Slicer tool that might suit you needs. EDIT: I have just tested the slicer on an image and it does work fine if you just use the grid to click on the image preview and then select the number of rows and columns you want then Save As and browse to the folder you want to save the sliced images in. The only drawback is that you only have 3 image formats to save in with PNG being the only lossless option. I started with a .pspimage file and would have liked to save the sliced images in that format.
