Hello.
I just bought PSP X8 Ultimate and it came with Aftershot 2. I installed Aftershot 2 and was informed that an update from 2.2.0.29 to 2.2.1 was available. So I downloaded the update and installed it, launched Aftershot 2 and registered it. However, now I am being prompted to register it again.
Should I or should I not? Is this a bug?
Register Aftershot 2 again after updating to 2.2.1?

Re: Register Aftershot 2 again after updating to 2.2.1?
I'm in the opposite boat. I have never been asked to register ASP, not the first time I bought version 1, and not now with version 2. Trying to get the Corel.com page in my account to register it only tells me the SN is wrong, though it was Corel who gave it to me. Anyway, I have raised it with Corel, and they say they are looking into it. Maybe that will rectify your own situation too.
EDIT: I have drawn your post to the attention of the Corel exec who looks after ASP. Hopefully this will produce some action.

Hi Ken and geekazoid,
We're looking into geekazoid's experience to see if we can replicate. Ken, I think we have your issue licked--we're testing to confirm.

Thank you for giving this attention, Ken and Greg.
Anyway, I just registered it again (same machine, same user account devoted for personal use). I hope this doesn't cause any problems when I activate this again on the same machine, different user account for work.

As a matter of personal interest, how did you carry out the registration process? I ask because in my case, after installing, I received no message saying the program needed to be registered; nor is there anything under Help -- as there is with many products -- saying something like "Register your product". When you go to Corel.com, there is a method of registering a new product by simply entering the serial number, but when I did this, it told me the serial number was wrong. This is also what happened when I bought ASP 1.0 when it was first released over 3 years ago, and installed it on a different computer running Win 7. So needless to say I am interested to know how the registration process proceeds for those users who have successfully registered!

I wish I captured screenshots earlier so I could have pasted them here. I just finished installing Aftershot 2 on my notebook and I didn't encounter the registration thingy. All it did was ask for the serial for the installation. After providing that and proceeding with the install, I ran the program and was notified that an upgrade was available. I downloaded the upgrade, ran it and opened up Aftershot 2 and am now using it without any problems.Ken Berry wrote:As a matter of personal interest, how did you carry out the registration process? So the first time you installed ASP you actually got a 'thingy'? I assume by that you mean you got a message about registering the program? If so, can you recall if it came after you opened ASP the first time, or at the end of the installation process?I just finished installing Aftershot 2 on my notebook and I didn't encounter the registration thingy.

It looked the same as the one from PSP X8 Ultimate (which I installed, activated, and registered prior to installing Aftershot 2). I am positive that it appeared *after* working with PSP X8 Ult because I remember checking my email to get and confirm the links for the other free downloadable material.Ken Berry wrote: So the first time you installed ASP you actually got a 'thingy'? Here's the email I got afterwards:
