Hello all,
I have a situation that I'm hoping someone can help me understand something with VSP 7. When I have a video in the "Video Track" and then place another video in the "Overlay track", I make sure to increase the size of the video file in the overlay track to fit so the white box is completely filled. When I play the project in VSP it looks fine, but when I render and upload it, the video track is still viewable behind the overlay track.
I thought we needed to make sure all of our material was housed inside the white box and that anything outside of it, wouldn't be viewable? I'm really having a tough time, especially with text, getting it to appear one way when creating my videos but then appearing differently upon rendering. Appreciate any help or insight you all may provide. Thank you!
~Kris

Re: Video overlays
No you MUST fill the screen - the white box is a hangover from the old days af CRT TV's when sometimes the whole of the screen was not visible and the white box defined the 'safe area' which would always be viewable - but that really only applied to text - some of the actual video image was off screen
with modern monitors and TV's you see virtually all the screen so when you want an overlay to completely cover the video in the top track then you must set it to fill the whole of the preview screen - right to the edges - so use the "fit to screen" option if you do not want to see any of the video behind it.
In fact if the white box is confusing you - turn it off - go to "Settings >> Preferences" and when the dialogue window opens look to the bottom an uncheck the box next to "Display title safe area on preview screen" - - note that it does say 'title safe area' reinforcing by earlier comment about text.
