Does anybody know how to use the plug in zChannelmixer for black and white conversions.
I would like to use colour adjustments to convert to B&W as you can in Lightroom but cannot work out how.
Converting to B&W in ASP2 is my main disappointment in ASP2.
Thanks in advance for any advice on this.

Re: How use zChannelmixer for B&W
I once got TinTin to explain it to me, but I forget. It's a little complex. That was part of the reason why I wrote Mix3, which is a simple B&W channel mixer. I've authorised Corel to compile this open source plugin on my behalf, so it should be available for all platforms.

Re: How use zChannelmixer for B&W
Thankyou very much, I have installed Mix3 and it works perfectly.
I am using ASP2 more and more in preference to Lightroom but felt its B&W ability was very limited in comparison. Your plug in has made ASP2 much more useable. I just hope that Corel develops ASP2 to improve things even more.
Many thanks, Dave Crombie.

Re: How use zChannelmixer for B&W
In my view, one of the strengths of B5/ASP is the number of B&W conversion options available. The plugin architecture means that there are a lot more conversion options than you get in other raw converters, which typically only have an equaliser-style set of sliders, as do LR & C1. Have you looked for other B&W conversion plugins? I know that there were issues with plugin availability with V2.2, and so I don't know if they're all there now. I find the B&W demonstration converter than comes with B5/ASP to be quite good in a lot of instances. Have you tried it?

Re: How use zChannelmixer for B&W
hi,
there are even with zChannelMixer few ways of getting images B&W....
the easiest way is to set the option 'B&W after mixing'
another options is to use the option 'B&W before mixing' - this will make you able to adjust the colors even after the B&W conversion.
third way is to set the option 'Lock B&W' - once set you still need to move the sliders to get it working.
4th way is to set the sliders by your own - to get a B&W image with the cannelmixer you'll need 3 times the same 3 numbers. means three numbers for the three red sliders and the same three numbers for the three green sliders and the same values for the three blue sliders. the option 'Lock B&W' is helping there a lot, because you then need just to change three instead of 9 values.
give it try, it's working easy, once you have the 'Lock B&W' tried....
