Missing Plug-ins for VS 8.5 Pro/Ultimate

Hello All;
Just upgraded to VS 8.5 Pro / Ultimate and do not see the ProDad or Mercalli Plug-ins. I heard that some of them are for an additional fee, but which ones should I expect to be getting along with the software, so I can decide on which ones I need or want to purchase. I have not applied any of the updates as of yet...should I first? then check to see if the appropriate plug-ins are installed? Someone said that there should have been three files for downloads for the Ultimate: the program, the extra content and ??? (ProDad)? I only saw two files in my download that pertain to me, one for the 64 Bit version and the extra content. Where can I find the 3rd file with the plug-ins? Thanks in advance for any and all assistance with this. I did search the forum first, but there were too many different stories that I could not figure which one applied to my situation. So I thought I would ask for myself. Forgive me if this has already been asked and resolved. I would appreciate being pointed to the correct response(s). Be well.

First, did you already have VS X8 Ultimate before upgrading to X8.5? If so, then you should already have the plug-ins and the upgrade to X8.5 should have still shown them.

However, if you bought the Ultimate version for the first time, you should, have received VideoStudioUltimateX8_64bit_1Main; VideoStudioUltimateX8_64bit_2Contents; and VideoStudioUltimateX8_64bit_3Bonus. The Mercalli, proDAD and Boris plug-ins are in the latter. If you didn't receive it but definitely paid for Ultimate, you would need to go back to the Corel shop (if you bought it from them) and enquire. It would normally come with the links to 1 and 2. No one here can help you as none of us work for Corel. We are users like you who volunteer their time to help other users.

The only unit for which there is an extra charge (around $10) is the Blu-Ray burning unit.

You answered my question(s) sufficiently enough for me to seek a resolution. I did not have VS8 prior to my purchase, but I rather purchased VS 8.5 and when I registered it on Corel's website, it said VS Pro/Ultimate which led me to believe I indeed should have been given a link to the 3rd file containing the plug-ins. I will do as you suggest and go back to the website and seek a solution from there. Thanks again and be well.

It depends on what you paid: do you still have the link you original used? What was the price of the Pro and the Ultimate versions? The latter would of course be more expensive.

Again, you are correct! I paid for the Pro Upgrade and not the Ultimate even though my registration says both. I have a call in with Corel today to rectify the problem if possible. I should just need to pay the difference, but you know things don't always go as smoothly as you would like. When I purchased the software, it took me directly to the Pro 8.5 and I assumed that was the latest version and it is of the VS 8.5 Pro, not the Ultimate. Hopefully it will just mean re-purchasing the software and returning the Pro version. Thanks again Ken. Hopefully things *will* go smoothly. But one possibility, if they don't, would be for you to take advantage of Corel's policy to refund the purchase price if not satisfied within 30 days of the purchase. That way you could seek the refund, and pay separately for the Ultimate versions.

By the way, there is absolutely no difference in Video Studio itself between the Pro and Ultimate versions. It is those extra plug-ins (Mercalli, proDAD, Boris) which constitute the difference.

Just in case someone else needs to do this in the future, you have to first seek a refund through Cleverbridge and then re-purchase the new software you desire. Looking forward to working with the new features like the Audio Ducking, etc. Be well Ken.
