Thanks Maureen, I found out about X8 yesterday from a NY photo supply company email newsletter.

When installing X8 is there a way to keep the files separate from the old ones?

Re: Creative Content for PSPX8 - read this!
Hello,
I purchased this morning PaintShop Pro X8 Ultimate, downloaded all the .exe and installed them, but I'm at a total loss regarding the Creative Collection and the creative content (which I was asked to download after I registered the program). I read the above postings, but they don't seem to help me. I'm not a computer expert, but not a novice either. Installing a program should not be that complicated! If I had known that this would turn into such an ordeal, I probably would not have bought this program.
I can't find any technical support on Corel's website, so I hope anyone on here can help me figuring things out.
If I open up my PSP Pro X8 main program, it does not look like on Corel's website. I don't have these folders showing up under collections. Where are all the free-loyalty backgrounds?
I did find some of the folder that are mentioned in some previous postings in my windows computer data folder but I don't have an ultimate folder in there and how do I get these folders into the paintshop pro x8? Why isn't that nowhere mentioned on Corel's website (where they talk about all the program's features) that you have to track down all of that? I was under the impression that I will have one download link (like with any other programs) and that's it. Then it turned out that there are several download links and now half of the installed .exe don't even seem to work.
My purchase also came with a Spring Creative pack and according to Corel's website, it should include 4 scripts, but I seem to only have one of the 4 scripts. And how do you use this anyway? It sounds so easy on Corel's website when they say "just run the script and it will do everything for you". Well, obviously it's not THAT easy or I'm just too stupid to use it. I don't know. I'm getting so frustrated here.
Attached are some print screens about what I see on my laptop.
I would really appreciate if someone could make some sense out of it.
Thank you

I'll try to help but I don't know if I can answer all your questions. As far as the backgrounds they should be located here:
C:\Users\Public\Pictures\Ultimate X8 Backgrounds
You can move them anywhere you want on your computer.
Based on the screen capture you posted from Corel's site I see 3 folders in the Spring Collection that contain clipart, picture tubes and frames along with one script. Did they indicate you would get 4 scripts? I looked on their site but didn't see any mention of it.
Here's some info on installing and using scripts http://learn.corel.com/photo/tutorials/ ... se-Scripts
Hope this helps.

Re: Creative Content for PSPX8 - read this!
I'm having problems as well with the KPT, Creative Collection and Script Guide. The KPT filters, I discovered, had installed themselves when I expected to install them by way of File/Preferences/File Locations. I wasted a lot of time looking for them unnecessarily and feel this should have been made clear. The Creative Collection I can't find because when I click C drive I don't see ProgramData as in the first post above. Program Files are there but when I go to Corel there is no Creative Collection like the above post. The Script Guide I can't find either, although I have gone through the set up process as I did with KPT and Creative Collection. Have all three installed themselves without me knowing, if they have I should still be able to find them somewhere? Chances are I'm missing something really obvious, it wouldn't be the first time. I can't find Perfectly Clear either, I thought that came with the program and didn't have to be downloaded separately. Am I wrong about that or am I not knowing what to click on to make it appear in the program? Any help would be appreciated as I'm pulling hair out I haven't got. Thanks.

Sounds like your Program Data folder is hidden. Here are instructions for un-hiding the folder.
http://www.isunshare.com/windows-8/show ... ablet.html
When you are installing the script guide it tells you where it plans to install it and gives you the option to change where it downloads. The default location is:
C:\Users\(your name)\Documents\Corel PaintShop Pro X8 Script Guide
Perfectly Clear is a separate exe file that you need to run; it is not part of the PSPX8 exe.

Thanks for taking the time to help me, Kathy, it's appreciated. I found ProgramData using your advice, but I'm still confused as to whether they are installed or not. One post above, which I believe to be true, says they are installed, another says to use the Files/Preferences/File Locations method. Also, could you tell where to find the Perfectly Clear exe file, please? Thanks again.

Re: Creative Content for PSPX8 - read this!
The content is installed to the Program Data path listed above and that should already be connected to PSPX8 via File -> Preferences -> File Locations. You can go there and easily verify this. The only time you would need to add a location is if you wanted to link to resources in a personal folder on your computer.
Another way you can verify is to click on the brush tool and see if there is an Ultimate X8 category for the brushes.
If you purchased the download version of PSPX8 you will find a link to the Perfectly Clear installer on the email you received from Corel. You will also need the Product Key that is listed on the email. If you purchased a boxed set I'm assuming it is on the CD but I don't know for sure as I've never gone that route.
Hope that helps.
