PSP X3 Compatibility with Windows 10

Post by jojomart »

I upgraded to Windows 10 a couple of days ago, and unfortunately, PSP X3 cannot be opened - everyone I asked has the same problem :( This is important for me as I write PSP scripts, and have to be able to test them in all versions from PSP 9 and up. Every other version, yes even PSP 9, works with Windows 10. I've tried using the app compatibility trouble shooter, and even though it changes settings to make it compatibile, it still won't open. Will a patch be created for PSP X3?

Thanks,

Joanne

I am virtually 110% sure that Corel will not produce a patch for a much older version like X3.

You could uninstall X3, reinstall then add the service packs which you can find in a stickied post here. I can't say it's a solution, but it just may work.

X3 is now considered an 'old version' and no further updates or patches will be available. Have you thought about updating PSP?

I know, that's what I figured, but I'm not sure what to do about it - I really need to be able to run X3 for testing - a lot of my customers still use it.

I tried that. As I said above, I only need it for testing - a script has to be tested and work in all versions so that people who buy it can depend on the fact that it will work for them. If I had known Windows 10 was going to cause me this problem, I would never have upgraded. It just seems strange that it is the only version that won't work - when even JascPSP 9 works - you can't get much older than that version lol

You just never know!!

A friend found this post online and it worked. PSP X3 now runs in Windows 10 - anyone having this same problem can go here to download it :D

http://www.tacktech.com/news.cfm?nid=39 ... ice-pack-5 The link on Corel to download it, is no longer there.

I'm so happy!
