Fix the zoom/scroll issue!!
Put zooming and scrolling back to the way it was in X3 and I'll buy, otherwise I'll be sticking with X3.

a good, auto-stitch panorama feature.
Bothersome to have to keep other programs around to make my panoramas.
And More control over the embedded data in saved files for posting to internet forums.

Put back the ability to convert to a different file type in the batch process command. You can keep the new ones that were added in X8 but you took away the only one I would ever use.

I would like to be able to crate a camera \ Lens profile that would have only my camera and the Lens that I own, so when I go to pick a lens correction I don't have to filter thru a long list of cameras and lens, or better yet the ability of the software to read the metadata and just import that information without user input.

Re: Wish List for PaintShop Pro version X9
Well I was curious enough to look at the save type outputs in the Batch process and I could not see any difference between X7 and X8 apart from the addition of FSP FastPict. Took me about 10 min to do the comparison - waste of time. Pity the OP did not mention which one "I would ever use" instead of leaving it so vague.ADonahoo wrote:Put back the ability to convert to a different file type in the batch process command. @Gik-tal with the lens correction once you have chosen your camera and lens you can save that as a preset - Click the little Save icon beside the white dialog box at top right (interesting that that does not show a tool tip title for that icon - perhaps a bug??) and in the Save Preset dialog box type in the name of your camera and lens or any abbreviated name you need . There after you can select your lens camera combo preset quickly without having to scroll through many lens type selections.

Re: Wish List for PaintShop Pro version X9
Sorry you thought my comment was vague, but since I wanted the file type conversion back I thought that pretty clear. I was trying to convert .psd files to .pspimage files. After reading your post, I went back to X8 and found a third screen in the Batch Process dialog box. So it hasn't been removed, just obscured. The dialog box in X8 is totally different from the one in X7, and I didn't see any option on the second screen to change the file type: that's on the third screen. I didn't realize you could press next without choosing something on that screen. I made screenshot of the two dialog boxes so maybe you can see why I was confused. I'm just accustomed to Corel taking away or hiding old things every time they add something new. This time what I thought had been removed has just been hidden.hartpaul wrote:Well I was curious enough to look at the save type outputs in the Batch process and I could not see any difference between X7 and X8 apart from the addition of FSP FastPict. Would like to see an tracing feature for changing artwork into vector format. Plus more shapes and patterns in line art of black and white. Love the pattern and kaleidoscope features. Would like to see a tool for creating patterns like paisley and motif designs.

Re: Wish List for PaintShop Pro version X9
** Some better color management options/practices would be good to have.
1.) Option to preserve a file's embedded color space profile. So if my working space is Adobe RGB and the file has sRGB embedded, Paint Shop would save my file with sRGB embedded. Right now it saves the file with the Adobe RGB color space embedded
2.) Option to save a file with a color space different than the working color space, particularly when saving as JPG. Right now it saves JPG images with the working color space profile. Given many browsers and photo viewers are not color managed (or properly), I need the image saved with sRGB color space not Adobe RGB in order to display properly in these/for these applications ... a rather tedious process in Paint Shop. Maybe this could be a put under a "Save for Web" menu option.
3.) Option to select the system default monitor profile among the options for "monitor profile." Some calibration programs create a monitor profile base on the date of the calibration. Without a system default monitor profile setting, the user must remember to go into Paint Shop's color management settings and select the new profile each time the monitor is calibrated; else risk having color mismatch issues.
** Add a magic fill option to the scratch remover

In the Cut toolbar, the Maintain aspect ratio button is way to the right on the Print Size subsection of the Cut properties toolbar, where it is normally hidden by other subsections. I would like to see it moved, or have the otion of not showing the Print Size boxes.
Also, many software packages say that you can use them as plugins for Photoshop and PSE. Yet you can specify their file locations as plugins, but they don't act as plugins for PSP. Please fix that.

Re: Wish List for PaintShop Pro version X9
I'm not sure I understand what issue you are bringing up with this. You can specify any file location you want for any of the location preferences, but if that location doesn't contain a program, script or other object that supports Paintshop Pro then it won't work in Paintshop Pro. There are many plugins that work in Photoshop and Elements that don't work in Paintshop Pro.ehume wrote:Also, many software packages say that you can use them as plugins for Photoshop and PSE. Re: Wish List for PaintShop Pro version X9
I should add here quickly that this is not Corel's fault. Those plug-ins have to be adapted by the manufacturer (in this case Adobe) to work with PSP. Corel can't do it by itself, and certainly can't do it unless Adobe agrees and makes the code available, or does the adaptation itself.JoeB wrote:There are many plugins that work in Photoshop and Elements that don't work in Paintshop Pro.

Re: Wish List for PaintShop Pro version X9
I really really really want the ability to modify the cursor. Give us the option to at least change its colour. I have spent countless hours looking for a white cursor on a black and white image. My poor old eyes are about to go on strike. A bright pink cursor may sound a bit 'off' but it would make life so much easier.

Re: Wish List for PaintShop Pro version X9
Not quite what you're looking for, but other than changing the cursor color to black, at the present time the best way to locate where your cursor is located is to go to the Pointer Options in your Mouse software and select the box to show cursor location when tapping the Ctrl key. That's the method I use.brucet wrote:I really really really want the ability to modify the cursor. Give us the option to at least change its colour. I assume you have also enabled "Pointer trails" in those same Pointer Options (Control Panel > Mouse > Pointer Options)... That at least makes it more visible as the pointer moves around the screen.
