How to simulate shingle house siding

I like to take pictures of houses and make virtual remodels of them in PSP 7. Currently, if I want to change house siding to cedar shingles, I snip from a picture of a house with cedar shingles and paste blocks of the shingles into the house I want to remodel. Laborious and awkward looking. Is there a better way to do this? Can I save a picture of shingles and make it a Picture Tube to sort of paint the shingles onto a house picture?

I want to create these kinds of shingles in house pictures:

You could make it a tube or a paint brush. Cut a section of the shingles, export the image as a brush.

Thanks for pointing me in these directions, trueblue. Will do some Youtube research on how to make custom brushes & Picture Tubes.

Wow! Did it, and works a treat! Thanks so much, trueblue, this was just what I was hoping for!
