Video file settings with Pro X8

Post by Weeination »

I noticed that unlike VideoStudio 9 and 10, when creating a video file with Pro X8 if you select either "Same as Project Settings" or "Same as First Video Clip" that the + sign to adjust the settings is not accessible. Therefore of course you don't have access to settings like the slider going from Speed to Quality and the option to select Two-pass encode.

Does that mean that those settings are either redundant or not necessary with X8 if selecting either "Same as Project Settings" or "Same as First Video Clip"? Will the resulting video file be of the best possible quality anyhow assuming Smart Render has been enabled?

If you select "Same as Project settings" - then Videostudio creates a video with the project setting values

If you select "Same as first video clip" then Videostudio creates a video with the first video clip settings

in other words - at that point YOU have already decided what you want all the settings for your output to be - which *should* be the best settings if you want an output that matches your input - so no those settings are not redundant

If you want to customise your output videos then do not select either of those options but select which format you want and then customise it to you wishes - you can't have it both ways - either you want to use "Same as" - or you want to customise
