Cannot read audio during rendering

Post by Bimbing »

I am still using VS Pro X4. I was creating video files of .VSP files. On one of them after rendering to.mpg was 99% completed an error appeared saying:
cannot read audio [0xc00d080d]
18300:8000:190

The .vsp file of .mst video being rendered is 27 min 45 sec long.
The .vsp file in question played fine.
Do those numbers 18300:8000:190 indicate where the audio is that could not be read? What does it mean?
If not, any suggestions what I should do.
Thanks. Bimbing

VSP is the project, it holds no video nor audio. If you have a problem at the end, check what clip you have there.
Try also to render after you reboot your computer, sometimes after long hours of work windows holds lots of garbage.

Can we also assume that "mst" is a typo and you meant to write "mts"? If so, how did you set mts as your output? VS as far as I am aware cannot produce that extension, but its exact equivalent, which is .m2ts... The extension .mts is used for high definition AVCHD mpeg-4 straight out of the camera, but in Video Studio uses the .m2ts extension.

Hi Ken, Thank you for your response.
Indeed .mst was a typo. The video files were recorded on a Canon Elura R52 HD video Camera, so the files are .mts files under AVCHD. These files were edited with VS Pro X4 with the following settings:

NTSC drop frame 29.92 fps
24 bits ; 720 x 480; DVD NTSC 29.97
Upper Field first
Video data rate: Variable (max 8000)
Audio Data rate 256 kbps
Dolby Digital Audio 48 khz

I will retry rendering it after rebooting the computer.

Hi, Thanks for the reminder. what I meant to say is that when I let the obtained .vsp file play, that is "Open Project xxx.VSP" and after it appears in the timeline, I could play it from the beginning to the end without any problem in video and audio. So, I thought if it plays without problem that way, what would during rendering an errorof not being able to read audio pops up.
When I rendered the other similar .vsp file to .mpg after 99% was rendered, it took a good 3 - 5 min before it was done 100%. With that particular .vsp with the errror, after 99% rendering was completed, it took just 1 min to produce that error message that it "could not read audio".

Hello Ken,

When VS renders in Creating Video File do you know what exactly happens? Does it render the video, caption, and audio together at any particular time? Or does it render all the video scenes first, then all the captions, and then all the audio?
I am asking this in regard to my rendering problem in that after 99% it says "Cannot Read audio". If it renders the video+caption+audio of each scene, then video+caption+audio of the next video scene, am I correct in assuming that the audio problem probably is toward the end of the .vsp project?
Thus, if the error comes up at 50% rendering that the problem is the audio somewhere at midpoint of the .vsp file?
If this is the case then it makes it easier for me to check which scene/audio is causing the problem.
Hope to hear your suggestions. Thanks.
