I've read the posts about NEF images getting a purple tint, and the x7.1 update that allegedly fixed the issue. However, I have all the updates, it tells me (version 17.3.0.30) yet I can see the images turning purple in the thumbnail views. When I export to jpg, they too are purple.
And it doesn't turn ALL the NEFs purple - each time I open PSP x7 it seems to pick one or two of them to tint, even if I don't do anything to the images.
I am shooting Nikon D5300 RAW 12-bit.
Help! This is ruining my pictures!

Try installing Nikon Capture NX-D (http://imaging.nikon.com/lineup/microsite/capturenxd/), a free download, and use that for the jpg conversion.

Re: Nikon D5300 RAW images still turning purple
Does the D5300 shoot in any other than 12 bit raw I had the same problem with my Nikon D750 shooting on 12 bit depth setting. I changed to 14 bit depth setting and lost the pink tinge. Corel support were less than useless and said that the 12 bit would never be covered. The file sizes are a little larger but its worth it to get the pictures. It possible give it a try.

Try to convert your raw files to DNG using Lightroom, or any other free converter. It may solve this problem. To be safe, first save a copy of your NEF files before converting them to DNG.

Try using Nikon's own ViewNX 2 http://downloadcenter.nikonimglib.com/e ... sw/20.html It will handle your pictures in raw with no colouration.
