this program has encountered an unspecified error VSX6

Post by dethkri »

I have tried both re-installing and adding a patch to my VIDEOSTUDIO pro X6 but the issue still remains. I have not had any problem like this in the past and have been using this program for well over a year now to edit but ever since I started recording with my HD PVR 2 VIDEOSTUDIO keeps crashing whenever I try to edit the videos. Anyone have a fix for this or is this editing software just crap for working with the HD PVR. I added an attachment so everyone can read the error message I keep getting.

So what exactly is the format of the video files you are trying to edit - if Videostudio works well with other files then the finger of suspicion points at the files from the HD PVR

can you please put one of those files in the timeline of Videostudio - then right click over it and choose 'properties' from the popup box which will appear - then screen shot the properties window and post it up here so we can see what we are dealing with.

Well there would have been only one to choose from if you had done like I asked and right clicked on a video in the videostudio timeline and that would have produced a property box like this

Those Properties mostly look pretty standard for H.264 video, although on the low quality side. The thing that surprises me, though, is the aspect ratio of 4:3 when I would have thought 16:9 would be more likely. Can you change your PVR settings at all? If so than I would change it first to 16:9 and probably also increase the bitrate which should also increase the final output quality.
