Need Help! Can't Open AfterShot Pro 2

I'll be as concise as possible:

Been using Aftershot for years on same computer (Windows 7,64bit). Worked great at 2.1.2.10 level. The first 2.2 version a few months ago was slow and crashed. I downloaded 2.1.2.10 on top of it and all was well again. Today I upgraded to the brand new 2.2 version and it unfortunately performed just like the previous one. So I downloaded 2.1.2.10 again and now I am unable to open the program. It begins to open with the splash page and starts to initialize. However, it almost immediately opens the "AfterShot Has Stopped Working" notice, checks for a solution, and asks to be closed. I've tried running as Admin (nothing). I uninstalled and/or removed all remnants of AfterShot files and reinstalled it (no good). I even uninstalled everything again and downloaded the 32 bit version into a new directory , but it also fails to load. (I tried a restore, but since I had already removed the AfterShot prgram files, it failed to complete the restore. I'm really stuck and would appreciate ideas.

Need to do a RegClean to remove the Corel or AfterShotPro instances.
Also there are probably default directories that are residual with the default setup subdirectories. If you clean these away then reinstall you will be good.

I am using Mac these days so sorry I cant be more specific.

Would be nice to have some installation instructions from Corel regarding using older versions along with 2.2.

This is an old post, but I'd be interested in the outcome. I have the same issue. I uninstalled every vestige of ASP (registry entries, cache, folders, etc.) but it still crashes after a reinstallation. Customer Support requested some system information and logs, then dropped it, didn't hear back. I took my refund and may go back to Adobe CC, much as it galls me to pay a subscription. ASP and PSP looked like good alternatives, too.
