Corel VideoStudio X8 unusual aspect ratios

Post by newfieboy1983 »

Good Day Folks,

I have a 21:9 Aspect Ratio monitor in which I do local recordings which I want to edit in there original aspect ratio of 21:9 @ at resolution of 3440x1440.

When I go to export the videos I've modified in VideoStudio I only get 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios which do not work for my purposes. I've tried adding custom profiles for this, but nothing lets me go beyond the "normal" 16:9 (4K, 2K, etc..) or 4:3 aspect ratios.

Any help in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You,
Justin P. Miles

Hi Justin,
Try to make a profile with Movie Profile Manager. You do have one 21:9 video clip to load the manager, do you?

The other way is to tweak VS under the hood, but that might cause other "things" so it's not recommended to average Joe.

Just what the doctor ordered. I saw the first video where in the comments the guy asked for some help...but not the second video where it explained it all. I was so close on my own too, I skipped over AVI/XVID. At the moment I'm doing a test convert with some recorded 3440x1440 World of Warships footage to see how well it works. The long term intent was to splice together a bunch of videos and add my own content in.

Thanks again ---- now I can stick with VideoStudio which is my personal favorite for the types of projects I do.

Cheers,
Justin M.
