Undo or Remove Imported Photos

Hello all,

So, I'm a newbie coming from Picasa. In every other piece of photo management software I've used, using the "Import" feature from an SD card copies the photo to a designated library folder. To my surprise, this is not the case with ASP2. So, now, I have a collection referencing files which are on an SD card, and any edits create .xmp sidecar files on my SD card. This is definitely not what I want.
No big deal, right? Just remove the folder from the collection. But... there is seemingly no way to remove a folder from a collection. Not in the right-click menu, not in the edit menu. What? Am I missing something here?
Is it not possible to delete a folder from a collection?! Any tips?

I understand now that I should not have imported them. The guide still doesn't go into how to remove anything from a catalog, though. That is just bizarre to me.
