Cannot edit decimal boxes -- request for workarounds

Post by urlisse »

Update: It would seem that I was able to change AfterShot's locale after rebooting. Since I am now using English decimals, I am now able to change the value of decimal numbers in text boxes. I assume the problem remains when the locale is set to use a different decimal number separator.

****

I just purchased AfterShot Pro 2 and noticed this very annoying bug. I was wondering if anyone could help me bypass it until Corel addresses it and releases a fix for the Linux version.

Whenever I try to edit a text box with a decimal value, it automatically resets to zero. Decimal values in AfterShot are showing the coma (',') as a separator and I can only type in numbers or a coma character--no periods ('.').

I suspect this bug might be linked to the localization of decimal text fields. I wouldn't be surprised that AfterShot was expecting a period as a separator but offered no way to input them in non-English environments. I was using a French Canadian locale (which uses coma separated numbers) when I installed the software. I tried changing the system locale and AfterShot's language to English since then, but observed no change in this behaviour.

I failed to find a configuration file in AfterShot which would allow me to set the decimal format to the standard English setting. Is there such a thing?

Since this software (which is otherwise a pleasure to use) is obviously very unstable, I would be curious to know of the existence of any resources which would allow me to bypass some of these bugs by directly editing configuration files. Of course, I could try reinstalling AfterShot, but this isn't the only annoyance I would like to work around. For instance, I'd very much like to be able to manage my Keywords list from XML sources files, since the systematic drag and drop crashes prevent me from doing so from the UI.

Has anyone written anything to help AfterShot users deal with these annoyances until a mature version is released?
