Upgrade question

I know this is a user to user board but I thought someone might know the answer from past experience. I figure x8 will be out soon and I own x6. I was wondering if I might be offered and upgrade for x6 to x8 or do I need to upgrade to x7 first?

X6 will let you get upgrade pricing.
