Inserting in a middle of a project. Shifting multiple clips

Post by ekush »

Is there a way to insert a picture or a Video Clip in a middle of the project and shift all tracks to the right by the length of the inserted clip.
This is in Corel Video Studio Pro X6.

If I only had a main track, I could just insert another clip and everything would shift. But if use templates or instant projects, It adds mutiple tracks. If I insert a clip, the main track shifts but not the tracks below, making everything after that clip out of sync.

Usually I would be telling you to enable "Ripple Editing" - which you do my clicking on the little padlocks at the very left hand end of the timeline which locks the clips in the timeline to their relative positions. You can try that but I am not at all sure how effective it will be with an instant project which usually has a multiple of tracks and effects applied

Brian,
wow, this is exactly what I was looking for and was not aware of this ripple editing functionality.
Thank you so much. This will work for instant projects as well since basically all it is is multiple tracks. So as long as all tracks are locked in rippling editing, it should work.

Thanks,
Eric

The User Guide is not the easiest thing in the world to follow - but you will find some help on ripple editing on page 104 of the user guide for X6
