First time user, trying to sync audio with video. But I'm running into a problem where waveform is complete flat.
I still hear the audio, there's just no waveform, a flat black line it is.
Can someone help me figure out how to magnify the waveform to make it visible?
Also is there a tutorial on how to sync audio with video provided that waveform problem is resolved. I did leave a clap sound at the beginning of the video.
Audio I'm using is recorded with Tascam DR-44WL and on recorder screen shows volume/gain is at about -12dB.

Your audio is to weak to be drawn by VS.
your best option is to export it as WAV to audacity, amplify it and import it back.
