Hi

Are you trying to burn a Standard DVD or a AVCHD hybrid disc or a Bluray disc?

the files used to burn a Avchd are Bluray compliant as such Avchd and Bluray disc requires a bluray player to play the discs.

You cannot play a AVCHD on a standard DVD player,

My earlier reply assumed you were burning a standard DVD, that seems to be wrong and you are burning Avchd.

Have you tried burning a Standard DVD?

What are the properties of your original video file?
Place the file in the library, right click for properties?

Oh well lesson learnt !! I changed the video content while I was waiting for the DVDs by adding some jpegs with music. The jpegs were put on the video track next to last video clip. Moving these to the overlay track resulted in newly burnt discs playing again. Why I dont know. They still vibrate but the non printable Sony ones are much better so at least I am making headway. Maybe a new burner will help?

Hi Trevor I could burn a standard dvd with no problem and it played but the results were quite rough. Yes I was burning avchd discs and as yet have not burnt a silent one. As the discs also vibrated in a Sony ps3 (but not as bad) I presume my burner is the prime suspect. At least I can show the bride and groom the film. Thank to everyone for the help, I have learnt a lot over the last few months.
