Divx 6 codec

Hi there,

I'm using VS9 to convert my own DVD homevideo's to divx files.
When using the Divx 5.2.1 codec its working just fine.
When i install the new Divx6 codec, i cannot choose this codec in VS9 for compression. It's just not listed.

When i deinstall the Divx 6.0 codec and reinstall the 5.2.1. codec i can choose it again.

I like to use the Divx 6 codec to encode my mepg-2 video.

there are some licensing issues with how divx6 was released. I think the divx folks are trying to re-work how that licensing should work (regarding how other applications can include that version of the codec).

DivX 6 just came out. I'd expect that we'd have to wait for Videostudio 10 before we could start using DivX 6.

No, I think the DivX people got enough hate mail on the topic to precluded that. Last I heard they were talking abot relenting and posting a "patch" sometime in October

Maybe the peeps at ulead are working on a patch right now. I hope they'll release it soon.
