Toolbars with Script

Post by ATV2gal »

Hi,
I have PSPX7 (new one). I made a toolbar and had it put the titles underneath. I find when I close my PSP and then go back and open it, my toolbar is there but the words (script) isn't. I then have to open customize and redo the whole thing. Is any one else having this problem? I didn't have the problem with PSPX6. Does anyone have a solution for this problem besides saving my work space?
Thanks

Not sure what you mean here. Lets get some definitions straight to make it clearer.
words associated with operations like Adjust, File Presets I understand as text
actions that do 0ne of a number of things at once I understand as scripts
Are you using text and script interchangeably?
You say you are getting the titles underneath.
Do you mean the text stays there permanently like File, Edit, View etc or do you mean the rollover black text on a white background that appears when you place the cursor on top of an icon. In the View > Customise > Options tab these are referred to as Tool tips.
If I am incorrect can you give a step by step direction on how you get a title underneath a toolbar?

Hi,
When you are using PSPX7 you can get writing under each item that you add to your toolbar. I went to View/customize/Toolbars. I then Made a tool bar and named it. From there I went to All Commands and dragged things like Add Border, Inner Bevel, etc. Once I had dragged them up to the toolbar that I made, I right clicked and I could pick, "image and text". The name such as "add borders" would be placed under that icon. When I close my PSP and would go back to open it, all of the text would be gone and I would have to go back and start over.
I would have to go back and to View, Customize, All commands and drag from the list on my right the things I wanted and then right click and add image and text.
Hope that is clear enough.
Thank you.

Aha . Thank you for that.
I have made up a Custom toolbar called Most Used and added to that Adjust : Levels, Brightness and Contrast, Red/Green/Blue, Hue/Saturation/Lightness, and a few other icons.
Started to do what you were doing and added the icon + words and it started to look unweildy as a toolbar and more like a Menu item .
I closed X6 and the reopened it and as you mentioned it retains the changes.
I can also verify for you that X7 SP3 does not retain those changes.
Even saving the workspace loses those changes as well. So yes that is a bug and if others can replicate that then it should be mentioned in the wishlist for X8.
Although I doubt if many would use that feature.

Hi,
Thank you for your response. I love the toolbar that I made as it is quicker to use then having to go to edit/3D etc. How do I report this bug? Being it worked in PSPX6 I would think it would be easier enough for them to fix in PSPX7. That is one feature I use all the time. If that can't be fixed in the next version, I most certain won't be purchasing it.
Thank you again for your help.
