Hello,
Running ASP2 version 2.2.0.29 on Linux. After working on several particular images with high noise levels in RAW format ( shot in very tricky lighting at ISO 8000 ) and being able to smooth out the images and blend the noise they finally look usable. However when exporting the RAW images either as JPEG full 100% or Tiff 16bit the noise returns in the final product as if no changes were made at all to the RAW file. I understand that compression takes place when converting but is there something i can do to reduce the noise in the final product ?
Thanks !

Did you check the raw file at 100% before export?
Are other effects applied at export?
cheers

Re: Exporting Images Noise problems
Thanks for the reply. Here are the settings applied and the metadata for the image. I'm new to photography only 7 months in but practicing and studying every day shooting mostly in manual mode auto iso max setting 8000. I did review the image and actually applied the settings at 100% to see the changes taking place and the images are very usable looking at the RAW file but barely usable when exported.
Metadata: Nikon d810, width 7316, height 4916, iso 8063, shutter speed 1/1600, aperture 5.6, focal length 50mm, exposure mode manual, metering mode multi-segment, flash used ( bounced overhead ).
The several pictures I was taking were on a recent cruise. It was a portrait photo of my niece and nephews on the deck. The sun was setting fast and the sky was perfect mixed with some clouds but i had very little time to take the picture because I was losing the sunset rapidly. Took the photo on deck with lifeboats overhead. Initially I used flash with a much slower shutter speed and a diffuser which lit up my subjects perfectly BUT was not able to capture the sunset at all ( blacked out the sky completely ) so i pointed my flash straight up to bounce off the lifeboats overhead and bumped up the shutter speed to 1/1600 sec. This allowed me to capture the fading sunset and light up the subjects perfectly. My wife said the image looks like it was done in a studio with a fake wallpaper background.
The settings applied in ASP2 are as follows:
Standard Tab: White Balance as shot, Fill Light 0.10, Sharpening checked off at 70, RAW Noise checked off at 100 ( nothing else used )
Detail Tab: Sharpening checked at 70, sensitivity 6, Raw Impulse Noise Removal checked, Raw Noise 100, Threshold 60, Perfectly clear noise removal checked, preset default, strength 70, detail 5.
Export settings ( This is where I'm a bit confused and not much in the manual/guide that goes into detail )
Image type JPEG, 100%, Normal Size, Output Color space Adobe RGB 1998, Metadata everything is checked off and DPI is set at 600, Output Sharpening is set to NONE. Also tried exporting as TIFF 16bit with slightly better results but not much.
Hope this info is enough to help solve my export problem. Thanks again for taking the time.

Re: Exporting Images Noise problems
I don't see anything that would explain the difference between the display in AS and the export....
