Script download does not work

Script download does not work
I purchased 1x Falling Snow Script for Paint Shop Pro for $9.99 this morning. it came as a zipped file. I extracted it and the photos from the sample came up but the script does not work as they said it would. they said one click and that's all you need to do. Not so, I followed their directions but only get a black box when I open it. Any ideas?

Since your question relates to scripts, I will move your post to our Scripts forum. Hopefully one of our script experts will be able to help you -- though I am definitely not one of them!

Re: Script download does not work
Hey N-artes.
Sadly I've lost my access to that download so I don't know what the instructions were. Or what all was included. I do, however, still have the script itself.
Can you tell us exactly what you've done so far? Step by step?
From what I remember you only have to
1) grab the SnowIsSoftlyFalling.PSPScript file
2) Place it into your Scripts-Restricted folder. Traditionally found at C:\Users\YourUserName\Documents\PaintShop Pro\17.0\Scripts-Restricted.
If it's not there you need to find out where you have it. Go into PSP and go to File -> Preferences -> File Locations.
Select Scripts Restricted and you should see two folders. One is in your Program Files folder and the other is a custom user folder. You can also set any folder up to be used for scripts if you want to.
3) Open an image
4) Select "SnowIsSoftlyFalling" from the scripts toolbar.
5) Make sure "Interactive mode" is turned off. There is an interactivity mode toggle button on the script toolbar. When it's highlighted interactivity is turned on. When it looks like all of the other buttons then it's turned off. You want it to be turned off because otherwise the script will pop up lots of dialog boxes making it a lot more than one click. There is a previous topic on this. Someone complained that this same script kept bugging him with lots of dialog boxes.
6) Press the play button.
It will create a blank layer above the current image and then it's supposed to add noise and do a whole bunch of other things.
So if you could tell us what you've done. And maybe include a few pictures of what you're seeing. That might help us narrow down any possible issues.
This last line is w holey unnecessary but I, being a highly opinionated person feel this need to say this. $9.99 for this script is outrageous and a complete rip-off. It's a fine script and no offense to the script author. But it's not that useful. There are many "snow fall" effects that could be easily scripted with little to no hassle. I bought it for $3 and it still felt overpriced. But just my opinion.

I'm happy to hear the problem is fixed.
You didn't say which version of PSP you are using. I'm sure you know that many plugins won't work in 64bit.

Re: Script download does not work
I think that script is prepared for X6, and X7, but it works for me in X4 with an error message.
While scripts done by Cassel are usually tested for all versions back to PSP8, some of the Corel ones seem to be only for X6 and X7. Perhaps a plly by Corel to get people to update.
I get that black screen with marching ants around the outside, but only because I had interactive mode toggled on.
