hey, i have thought about deleting the proxy files, and replacing the original files as well, my question is HOW DO YOU DELETE THE PROXY FILES AND WHERE ARE THEY?

from Settings - Smart Proxy Manager - Settings shows the Smart proxy Folder location.

From Settings Smart Proxy Manager - Smart Proxy File Manager shows a list of created proxy files, select all and delete selected.

Why would the software let me edit the entire project then start appearing 'format mismatch' at the end. also when i re start the computer it all works fine for a while. just when i go to render it freaks and unlinks. i also went to look for the proxy files, there appears to be none for these files, which is weird because i definitely created them. so i can't even delete what is not there, unless the files are somewhere else! when i right click and try to smart proxy it doesn't do anything. it is the settings? because they are 4k files?

i think i will just have to convert the files into a different format, then re-link them back into the project, long process, but i don't see any other option. such a pity that this worked once and then the software changed its mind randomly !

ok i have made some progress. i managed to find only 3 files from the proxy, which i originally did for the test file. So all the rest of the proxy files where missing and i could not create new ones. weird. anyway, so i deleted the 3 proxy files and now its letting me smart proxy all the main files again! which is great, and its saving them in the smart proxy folder. so this is progress. so there is a lot for it to work through, so its doing it all now, fingers crossed this might solve the unlinking problem!

so after all the stress, i decided to just re-format the original files into a more manageable format. so i converted everything and then, re-linked them into the project, which didn't take too much time, and worked out fine in the end! my client is very happy with the final outcome after all that. thanks for all the help
