So, a while back I upgraded to VS X8, and I like that...I haven't had much chance to work with Boris, but finally I am getting into that a bit. When I took a good look today I see that I don't have many of the presets under the keyframes Library on the "basic" page. I wanted to try out some of the lower thirds, as shown in one of Gripps videos. When I click on the "static" selection under the keyframes Library, there is not much there, and no lower thirds at all. Many of the other tabs in the Library are almost empty as well. That's not right! I did have a little trouble when I installed, many of the effects and transitions did not properly load...I thought I had that all fixed but I guess not!
So, how can I get all my presets to load? I wonder if I should just try re-installing Boris.

Re: Boris Grafitti is incomplete in VS X8
There should be 108 static lower thirds and 18 new lower thirds
Suggest you uninstall Boris and then reinstall, as it seems that your original installation was corrupt

Re: Boris Grafitti is incomplete in VS X8
Hi
I also see 118 static lower thirds…….
Corel provided a fix for some Boris issues, I don’t know exactly what, but some users could not see the Boris Filter at all.
http://www.videostudiopro.com/en/support/updates/
The file is quite substantial at 280Mb ish. So would assume it is the entire Boris package
By the way the version I have shows as 6.1 after running the patch.

Re: Boris Grafitti is incomplete in VS X8
The update is separate from the patch. And it gives you Boris 6.6 most definitely -- see attached image. My problem is that I can't recall now how I got that update, though I seem to recall at the time X8 first came out that Corel approached Boris about the problems people were having installing Boris in X8 if it had already been installed in X7. Boris provided that patch, but also IIRC noted that once the patch was installed, people could then update it to 6.6 with a separate patch which had just come out at the time. Again IIRC they provided a link -- but I would need to do a search to find it.
Edit: Found it! See this thread from February http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 08#p301808

Thanks, I re-nstalled Boris and now it looks like everything is there. However, I still have 6.1 I don't know where to get the update either, and I am wondering how important it may be...does it offer any new tricks, and what might the improvements be?

Hi Ken
Have you purchased Boris separately, or is 6.6 from Corel.
I installed the patch to fix the Boris problems, but like Mark still show 6.1?

Re: Boris Grafitti is incomplete in VS X8
I certainly did not purchase Boris separately, but in a sense 6.6 did not come from Corel but from Boris... I thought I explained what happened above and provided the link (under the image I attached but here it is again http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php ... 08#p301808 ) to the thread which went through all of this last February. The patch to get 6.1 appearing in X8 was provided by Boris at Corel's request. But around the same time Boris updated 6.1 to 6.6 but this update was only available on the Boris site (http://www.borisfx.com/support/downloads/ ). When you go there you find the update file for Corel, though confusingly it doesn't mention VS X8, only Corel Pinnacle Studio X8 and VS X7. But nonetheless it works!
There was some confusion in February when some users went through the update process, but the name 6.1 continued to appear in their FX library. However, when they actually opened Boris when it was applied in a project, it showed as 6.6 in the application itself.
For others with X7 already on their computers, they found the update applied to X7 and not X8, but copying the Graffiti6.vft file from the X7 vft_plug sub-folder to the same sub-folder in X8 resolved the problem.
