ProDad HandScript Presets

Post by tpaljr63 »

Hello,

I have been searching the net for days - I would like to use the ProDad Script FX to show writing text on a video I created, but everything is a preset. When I try to use the script fx and check the video background box it still shows the images of the preset which I do not want.

Wish they had a blank preset to choose from ..if any one has ideas- I scoured the tutorial videos on the net and found the same issue.

Thanks for any info or help.

Hi Tom

I don’t use scripting but had a play about with the filter.
Using the NewYear, last option seemed to write text, I had to change the font via the Styles option to get a suitable effect.
At least the NewYear does not have objects on screen so my video showed through in full.

Not very good I have to say, trying to edit/customise the affect again seemed difficult.
Recognising what was actually set impossible.

If you dont require the text to write then the Text editor and animations may be your best option.

Post Updated

I have attached a VSP showing text on screen, each character fades in in sequence giving the effect of writing.
Not sure if this is what you are after or need to see every pen stroke?

Hi Tom

Sorry, I looked at the tutorial and realized it would not be of any help to you after seeing what your problem is. I tried lata's zip file but would not work in my X7 hope it works for you.

Hi Trever

thanks for the X7 version, but it did not work. Video Studio just closes down as it did with the X8 version previously.

Something very strange going on. That VSP opens fine in X8. However, when I try to open it in X7, the program just disappears with no error message. So I opened the VSP in X8 and saved it again in X7 format. But when I tried again to open the new VSP in X7, X7 simply disappeared again! :?:

Perhaps, but that does not explain why I could open it in X8 and save it in X7 format and it still crashed the program...

Hi Ken

The original VSP from X8 used Project Properties as Mobile settings, for some reason X7 did not like, I will investigate a little further?

Thanks Trever for producing the file, and Ken for your input.
I'm not sure if the original poster TOM has seen the updates you made to the post. I think I would call your VSP the poor mans answer to writing in script :D , but looks great as an alternative and I have added it to my favorite title menu with a change in the font to AR Berkley - Italic.

I would just like to say how much I appreciate the time and work that you two guy's put into the user board and over so many years.
Many thanks.

P.S. Regards from Auckland Ken, hope it's not too cold for you down there at the moment.

X8 vsp crashes X7

Post by lata »

Hi Ken

I have carried out a few tests regarding the crash when opening a X8 VSP in X7

All VSP created using OnLine or Mobile project properties crash X7
I also checked VSP for X6, this also crashed the program, it also showed a DMP file being created, trying to close that window took 5 attempts, 5 dmp files before the program closed, strange?

The OnLine and Mobiles set project properties to use Mpeg4, should not be a problem but seems to be the common factor?

I will pass this on to Yvonne.
