Rotate Text Around Sphere

Rotate Text Around Sphere
Has any one had experience making text rotate around a sphere? I was working on it last night and just couldn't get it right. Any tips would be appreciated.

I tried as a newbie to make it. I am not sure whether it is the correct way to do it
There was 2 ways I tried:
1) Make a sphere and then using texture choose a JPEG file with the text on it. So the sphere rotates (animated) and the text rotates along with it
2) Make a text object and under the attribute panel <Add a plug in> which you can choose a plug in labelled Surface Animation which you can choose a sphere shape. Then make a sphere with the same co-ordinates and increase the transparancy so that the text can be seen.
Maybe some one knows a better way to do so... I also tried for a long time trying to do so.
