I have VideoStudio x8 and when I load a video - I see the Wave Form as expected, however, when I load an audio file I created (MP3 or WAV) as an audio track, I get a solid black line.
Some Audio files that I record work. They may be a little louder than the others, that is the only difference.
Any suggestions? I attached a test audio file.

Re: Issues viewing Wave Form
Welcome to the forum!
Since you say you can see the waveform when you insert a video clip, I assume you have the sound mixer icon activated. But in my own X8, when I insert your audio clip I can also see the wave form (or what there is of it). So I am not sure what might be happening with your own setup...

This is it, in order to see the wave in VS it need to be at a cretin strength, if it below that you might still hear it but the wave will not show.
For better audio editing try Audacity.

Re: Issues viewing Wave Form
Thanks @asik1 - that is what I suspected after working on it for a time. I used some other Audio tools and can see the wave form fine. If I edit it to be louder or use another audio file that is louder, I have no issues in VS.
It is too bad that you cannot "zoom" or get a better wave form in VS. It would make syncing audio from my field recorder so much easier - a 2 minute task can easily turn into 20 minutes currently (which is my primary use for VS)
