video loading error
I have a .VSP file and I'be been adding gopro video to it over time. Recently I tried to add 4 videos from a recent shoot (GOPR3778.MP4 for example). When I drag the video clip to the video track I get an error. Not sure why I can't load these specific videos. Enclosed is a snapshot

Re: video loading error
Is there any difference between the Properties of these specific videos from the other GoPro clips already in the project? Have you changed the Hero's settings to, say, a different frame size? I know, for instance, that 1280 x 960 doesn't seem to work in VS. (I have a Hero 3 Black Edition and always use either 1920 x 1080 or 1280 x 720 both at 50 fps, with no trouble.)

Re: video loading error
I don't think I made changes in the Gopro, not sure. I tried making a new project file in Corel and when I dragged over the MP4 the same error occurred. Check out the attachment. The file with the properties on the left work fine in Corel. The file with the properties on the right don't.
Any suggestions on what could have changed in my GOPRO? What settings on your Gopro work for you just fine?
Secondly, The file that is giving me issues in Corel is only viewable with VLC media player. Windows Media Player plays back the audio, no video.

Re: video loading error
Well since that second clip doesn't show frame size or frame rate, I can only think the clip is corrupt in some way. If it plays in VLC, while playing it put VLC on Pause, then go to Tools > Codec Information and see what it says about the video there.
I have already said that I always use 1920 x 1080 and 1280 x 720 as the frame sizes in my GoPro, and it appears your first clip uses that first frame size, though being NTSC you use a frame rate of 29.97 fps -- though this could also be set in your case to 50.94 fps (60 fps) for better dealing with fast moving action. Unless you remember changing that frame size, we can assume that you used it again for the second clip, and again can only assume that something went wrong.
Again, because it plays in VLC, you could use the Media > Convert/Save option in VLC to try to convert that clip to another AVC/H.264 MP4 file. When you click on Convert/Save, a dialogue box appears. On the first tab (File) click on the Add button and navigate to your clip so that it appears in the box. Then click on Convert/Save down at the bottom of that tab and a new window will appear. Under Profile select 'Video - H.264 + MP3 (MP4)'. Then at the bottom select the destination where you want the new file to go and press start. When the conversion has taken place, see if the new file will play in VS.

Re: video loading error
weird. I opened file 'GOP3778.MP4' and I can't convert it to any format. When I attempt to do a media conversion, it doesn't even recognize the file 'GOP3778.MP4' in the directory, take a look at the attachment. If I right click on the file in the directory and say open with VLC, it opens. But within VLC browswer, it doesn't recognize it at all.

Re: video loading error
But does anything play, or does VLC just open to a black screen? If I right click on the file in the directory and say open with VLC, it opens.

Re: video loading error
Could this be because my camera is set to 4K wide instead of 1080?

Re: video loading error
I converted the file directly off my GoPro Silver 3+ to an avi in the GoPro Studio Suite. I did this because Corel Video Studio Pro would lock and freeze up everytime I dragged a video to the editing table. I was able to play back the video on Windows Media Player, and the GoRpo Studio when it was an avi. I was also able to import the video to Corel. However, when I attempted to create a video file I got an error saying Not licensed for CineForm HD encoding. Go to http://www.Cineform.com to purchase upgrade.
