I lost my corel x3

Post by ofelia »

I bought my COREL PAINTSHOP PHOTO PRO X3 and PAINTERPHOTO ESSENTIALS 4 EN PCM in 2011. Today i had to to a factory reset on my computer, when i went to Corels site there was no link for me to re-install my programs. I got in touch with Tech Support and they informed me that my version is no longer supported. Because the computing environment changes so quickly, it’s very difficult for us to maintain older versions of software as they do occasionally run into some issues when installed on new operating system. So now i lost my Corel and cannot get it back. Is there ANYTHING I can do to get my Corel x3 back? I do not want to upgrade nor can afford to buy other programs. I use my Corel daily, now they're gone, i am at a loss here and literally cried when Support told me there was nothing they could do.....plz i need help on this, i need my programs back

Regrettably this an issue of not backing up your software prior to resetting to factory format. Your programme has now gone and you can no longer get X3.

You can get X4 or X5 at a relatively low price from here: http://zdtpvauqcrknyjcw.appsoutletmax.c ... dor/corel/

Did you register X3 when you bought it? If so, then if you check your account on Corel.com, with some programs the download links are still available -- though I have to confess I am not sure this will be the case with such an old program...

Sadly, Corel doesn't maintain all of the patches and service packs either on their FTP servers- I got told just to buy a new version. That is just total crap that they can't maintain links to download software you paid for and registered because they want to save money on storage- especially when the software was sold as a download and not a boxed version.

I learned my lesson and now have all downloaded software and patches saved to an external hard drive- or today you could use a higher capacity flash drive or even an SD card too. That's the cost of doing business with Corel.

You could try a free program like Gimp and some others that are pretty darn good- here's a link to some of them- http://www.techradar.com/us/news/softwa ... ry-1135489

P.S.- I found this link from a reputable site to download PSP X3- it says trial version, may or may not require a serial number. At Corel.com, sign in then go to your account and under registered products are the serial numbers for all of the software you've bought from them. Link for X3 download- http://corel-paintshop-photo-pro-x3.sof ... /download/

Corel still has all of the patches for X3 on their FTP server- ftp://ftp.corel.com/pub/PaintShopPro/X3/

Here's a link to download Painter Essentials 4- do same as above by retrieving your serial # from Corel's site. http://download.cnet.com/Corel-Painter- ... 49510.html

If you look in the stickied post here you will find the necessary information for updates and patches.
Casell kindly provides a link to her complete list and X3 is in there. http://phpbb.ulead.com.tw/EN/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=55803

Personally, you would be far better pushing the pennies and go for a later version of PSP.
