I can't be sure if this is Ulead or just something wrong with my computer but this is where it started.
I got Ulead DVD Movie Factory 3.5 Suite with my ASUS SDRW-0804P-D DVD burner. I have been able to burn things using Nero, successfully. And even made a successful project in Ulead a few weeks ago (with menus and everything) and it burned fine and played fairly well.
Since that time, however, I have been trying to burn another project I made. It's slightly larger, granted but still not large enough to fill up the whole DVD. And every single time I try to go to the final menu on Ulead --and I've tried strait-up burning it as well as saving it as a video file to burn with Nero--I get the "We're sorry but Ulead has encountered an error and needs to close..." crap. I have tried system restoring my computer a couple of times, removing another DVD authoring program (after someone suggested they might not play well together), rebooting many many times uninstalling and reinstalling the software multiple times and yet still I get the error message between 10 and 15% of the way through the burn or copy.
Do you think it's the software or a problem with the computer. I have been getting "connection reset by peer" messages randomly when using the internet as well. Related?
Please help. I need to get these project files off my harddrive (another possible source of the problem--too much clutter on drive C).
Thanks.

Are you using any file sharing programs on the internet? The message you receive indicates to me that there is something going on in the background. It might use too much resources, whatever it is.
I would do an in-depth scan of my system for any viruses or trojans, adware and the like, get rid of any file internet sharing software, disconnect my machine from the internet while doing video work, stop virus scanning software and any unnecessary background operations.
Just disconnecting from the internet will not be sufficient because, whatever you have running in the background, is still going to try to connect.
Some system spec's would also go a long way in getting meaningfull advice. How much free space do you have on your HDD? When did you defrag it last? Deleted any redundant temp files lately?

I have the same problem but I am using Ulead Movie Factory Version 5. It gets to step for "converting title" and shows message "ULead is encountered an error and needs to close" at around 13%. Tried all -R, +R and RW..still no good. 200GB of free space in drive C, 1G RAM, virus scanned clean, disk deframented 2 days ago...nothing is wrong with the computer itself.
I suspect it is ULead itself but not sure what causes it yet....any clue ?
Thanks.
