SCRIPT FOR X7 TO START ANIMATION SHOP

Post by WickedDeath »

Hello I am new to this forum. I joined because it looks like my best chance to get a few answers where all else has failed. I tried to see if anyone has asked this before but I didn't find anything or if I over looked it, I apologize.

I am not having any issues so far with PSP X17 (knock on wood) but am wondering about plugins.

My PSP 8 (my favorite one) has animation shop with it, Now due to how old it is, I know that the plugin for the animation shop probably can't be used in pro X17. Hence the reason I never deleted the program or I keep uploading it again with every new PC I have gotten. Here's the question though, with PSP x15 I got color Efex 3.0, which I love, and want to know if there is a way I can move this to X17 so i can delete X15 ?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks

Hi and welcome.

Grab the folder currently in X5 and paste it into X7 plugins folder. Remember, plugins only work with 32bit.

Any folders you currently have in X5 can be copied over to X7 folders.

There is a script that you can add to X7 that will open Animation Shop 'Start Animation Shop'. - zip file below. Place it in the Scripts-Trusted folder. Also, when you create images for animating they can be saved for Animation Shop in X7.

Why delete X5 . What happens if sometime in the future X7 crashes and you need to be able to edit something urgently (Murphy's Law at work).
If you are not short on hard disk space keep X5 for backup.
Systems available Win7, Win 8.1,Win 10 Version 1607 Build 14393.2007 & version 20H2 Build 19042.867

Thanks Trueblue. I am having problems all around because I just realized that the email sent to me from Corel said ultimate and directed to me to the standard pro x17 when i downloaded it. So I am going back and forth with Corel/clearbridge right now about purchasing the wrong program to begin with. It is mostly my own fault because I didn't fully read what I was buying.

I do have another question based upon your reponse, what is the difference between the 32 bit and 64 bit other than the plug in's ? I have the 64 currently and may need to change that. Also if you have perfect clear, is it even worth changing from the standard X17 to ultimate just to get that program?

Thanks

You are correct hartpaul, I probably should because hard disk space isn't in a shortage. I just figured that having 3 different PSP's may cause a conflict at some point and i didn't really see a huge change from X15 to X17 other than the goods you got at purchase.

I have PSP8, X2, X3,X4,X5,X6,X7 all installed on an XP desktop , Win 7 laptop and Win 8 Laptop with so far no problems. Perhaps I have been lucky, but no problems in installation and none in running - the basic program that is. I use only Edit mode.
Just checked my programs and found that my X6 only had Perfectly Clear as I had not bothered installing the KPT or Nik filters.
So I went to File > Preferences > File Locations and selected Plugins. Then in the right section selected Add and navigated to the folder that had the plugins for my X4 and added that folder.
In my case it was (XP) C:\Program Files\Corel\Corel PaintShop Pro X4\Languages\EN\PlugIns (in PSP X4)
You can go to your file location in X5 find where it goes for its plugins and copy that path and then add it to your X7 File Locations.
Good reason for keeping other versions around as each can have a lend of the plugins etc of others.
I mentioned X4 as that was the one I used most often with all the problems that X 6 experienced, I avoided it for some time. Likewise with X7, I will only use it for special things that the others do not have. You can easily direct copy / transfer from one opened version directly to the other opened version and back, or save as .psp file and load into the other.

64bit vs 32bit = the former is more powerful and faster. You cannot use anything 32bit, ie: filters/plugins in the 64bit version. Eventually, down the track 32bit anything will be obsolete. I have a 64bit machine but it also allows 32bit data. Many programmes today have the 64bit version only.
Installing PSPX7 you should use the recommended download of 32bit and 64bit together.

I have PSPX6 on my PC but do not use it! All files that were part of X6 are now in my X7 folders. I just copied them over. Setting the file locations to those folders is all I need. However, if you wish to keep all folders intact in X5 just direct the File Location to those particular folders also.
