Image batch processing

Post by RBeaubien »

Does PSP X7 support batch processing of image files? (i.e. point to all files in a folder, open each, resize each, apply one step photo fix, save, and move on to next file)

Thanx,

Rob

Yes ... just write a Script that does what you want, then use Batch Process.

Hahaha, I've owned PSP since V4.0 (Not X4) and never knew there was scripting. I figured out how to record the script, just need to know how to apply it to either a selected group of file or all files in a subdirectory.

There are a number of videos on youtube.com that show how to use scripts or capture editing in batch processing.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n-_6gCCoI3s
That shows how to use capture editing to do the same series of steps on a number of images.

This one shows how to save a script and use it in batch processing. The advantage of this is that the script can be saved and used in any subsequent session if the same conditions exist.

Another feature along these lines - After you have edited photos go to Manage mode.
Images edited in this session will have an icon in the corner.
Select one whose editing you want to repeat in others.
Click on the icon at the bottom for "Capture editing". The "Apply editing" icon next to it lights up.
Click on the thumb or thumbs (using Ctrl to select multiple) to which you want to apply the editing and click the "Apply editing" icon.

BE WARNED - once you apply the editing to other images, I don't know if that can be undone, however, the original will be available in the applicable Corel Auto-Preserve folder and in Edit mode you can use Edit/restore original if you have Enable Auto-preserve checked in Preferences.
