YES

to split a project please read this topic - - http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=54715&

What exactly do you mean by 'join projects' do you want to join a number of totally different projects together - or just join up the clips in one project - If the former then we need to know what version of VideoStudio you are using as there are differences between versions.

I would like to be able to split a project into several new projects and have the option to re-join these projects in a different order.
I am using VSX8.

Hi

Yes that is possible but may be a little involved depending on whether you wish to continue editing after reconstructing the project.

Options

1 / you can set the project preview range and render that section to a new video file, repeat for other ranges / selections.
You now have separate video files of your project, start a new project and add these to the timeline, any order you wish.

2 / if you need to continue editing then you have to retain the project as separate files/clips and that could be difficult.
The only way to do that is to delete the parts you do not want, first create a copy of the project to retain the original.
Easy to split into two, simply delete all clips at the right will retain the beginning portion and visa versa, retaining sync is the problem..
Reconstructing using X8 is easy, the hard part is getting the separate VSP files.

You are best to complete the editing then use option 1
And if you are intending to burn a DVD you can always add the separate video files to create separate titles.
