The Customize Motion dialog box in X8 (and probably X7) has a serious usability problem. As best as I can tell, the use of a mouse or other pointer device is inescapably necessary in order to do anything.
When the dialog opens, no object has focus. I cannot find any way to navigate to any control or field using only the keyboard; the tab key does nothing.
Additionally, as far as I can tell, there are no accelerator keys for any part of the dialog box.
I'm hoping that I'm just missing something, that the dialog can in fact be operated using only the keyboard. If not, that is a huge Accessibility and usability flaw.
So, as I said, I'm hoping that I am missing something, and somebody can get me on the right track.
Dialog box keyboard shortcuts?

Re: Dialog box keyboard shortcuts?
Hi Bruce
I must admit I had not noticed that problem, but then I use a mouse.
So far unable to activate the panel without a mouse click.
Once done I can navigate the lower panel using tab, up and down arrows and or keyboard numbers to set.
Unfortunately cannot access the timeline to Play or set keyframes, nor access the digital clock
Finally when finished the settings I cannot access any of the lower commands reset, Save to.. Ok or Cancel
Without the mouse the panel is no go what so ever.
That being said, how do you manage to edit anything in the main program without a mouse.

Re: Dialog box keyboard shortcuts?
Working with a keyboard and mouse is difficult for me, due to MS, but I manage. Whenever possible, I automate tasks using custom commands I write for my Dragon speech recognition software. In the case of the Customize Movement dialog, my goal was to create a custom command that would let me specify the desired values by voice, and then the script would zip through the Customize Motion dialog and apply my desired values. That will still work, but it means I have to either manually select the first control, or program up a brute force method. Fortunately, that dialog always opens on the same place on the screen, so I can just tell Dragon to click on a specific screen coordinate as the first step after the dialog opens.
You'd be surprised at the number of things I've managed to do using mostly voice instructions. For instance, I can manually click a video or video segment in a track, and then say something like, "Shift three frames right." Dragon promptly does so, with perfect precision.
Before I was compelled to retire, testing and evaluating Accessibility of software products was part of my job. The lack of decent Accessibility that I encounter all the time is appalling and frustrating. And I know everybody loves to hate them, but Microsoft has issued fixes to Accessibility bugs I've submitted more often than any company I've ever communicated with.
Anyway ….

Re: Dialog box keyboard shortcuts?
Hi Bruce
Thanks for the update, I think I understand now…….
I have passed your comments and a link to this post to our Corel contact.
Hopefully they will listen and provide a fix making the panel accessible without using the mouse.
It’s the weekend and things get a little quite in Taiwan, I don’t expect a reply till next week but will keep you informed
