Project won't open!!

If the Smartsound software has become corrupt somehow, Have you tried uninstalling and restoring the Smartsound package as suggested at this link?

Thanks for your input, like I said earlier,I'm willing to try anything! But yes I tried that already and with both SmartSound Common data and Smart Sound Quick tracks 5 removed from my computer the project nearly opens, I can see everything in the project but ofcourse the error is on the screen and I can't click save or anything until i X out the error and when I do that than Corel closes. I have since reinstalled a new copy of SmartSound Common data and Smart Sound Quick tracks 5 and still no luck.

After using Add/Remove Programs to remove the software, are you using any kind of Files Cleaner like CCleaner afterward to rid any leftovers from the system and registry? It's been my experience that sometimes Windows Uninstaller doesn't get everything, then when you go to reinstall, if there's a corrupt file or entry still on the system, instead of the reinstall process over-writing a file or entry that's already there, it just installs whats needed and so a corrupt file or entry may remain with the fresh install.

That’s not good for the start of a New Year

Is this the same project as you provided earlier, or a different one.

I noticed from the fault details that you have not updated the program, have you tried installing the service packs for X7.
I also assume you have re-installed the program, uninstall selecting to remove all personal data to perform a clean install.
Having said that I cannot open the VSP, something has certainly corrupt that?

I did pass on your details with the VSP to Corel but have not heard anything positive, other than it was passed on to Technical support

Its a different project, but I would imagine it will be my last with Video studio.

Sorry to hear that but can understand your reasons, having the program crash is bad enough but unable to recover the project is ……

If you attach your latest problem file I will pass on to Corel again.

At the moment they are pretty busy with a flash update SWF problem, program crashing but sure they will reply, I can only try again?
