Hi, I recorded a video for youtube on my camera that I have been able to use and edit fine for months now.. It was a MOV file, which I pulled off the SD card.
I originally edited the content in Windows Movie Maker because I needed to rearrange the order of some of it and I find it easier to do that in WMM. I rendered it into an MP4 in WMM. Then I wanted to further edit it in Videostudio x7 in order to do some photos and video clips as overlays.
When I put that MP4 into Videostudio x7, at the same exact point in the video, the audio just drops out. If I playback just that clip, it stops at that point and skips to the end. If I do playback for the entire roll, it keeps playing the video without audio.
I cut my project just before that point and was able to render everything preceeding that on VSx7 just fine. I attempted to make a new project for the rest of it, still had the same problem at the same point. I went back into WMM and cut down that video to start at the point where I am losing the audio in Videostudio. The audio plays fine in playback in WMM. I rendered it again, just that remaining part of the video. It plays fine as a video file on my computer also.
When I tried to put it into VSx7, I again had the same problem. Next, I went into WMM and started a new project and loaded in the Mp4 I had saved rather than going off of the project I had been using. That played fine in playback, rendered fine, and played fine as a video file on my computer.
But AGAIN, once I put it into VSx7 the audio just stops playing at that same exact point.
I tried rendering in VSx7 to see if the audio was just missing from the playback and would end up in the resulting video, but the saved video has no audio, either.
I don't know what else to do to try to fix it.
As far as I know, I have not downloaded any patches or updates for VSx7. I have only owned it for about 2 months.
Here are the properties from the video:

How do I fix this?? I really need to get this resolved ASAP as I am already past the deadline for this video. I have already spent quite a bit of time editing the video in WMM so I would hate to have to start all over in VSx7, cutting out the bloopers and rearranging the order is very tedious as it is and even more so in VSx7. Please help!

Re: Audio cuts out in playback- videostudio x7
Well, I fixed it by going back into WMM and rendering the video as a wmv file instead of an mp4. When I put that wmv into VSx7, it works just fine in playback.
