Hi,
I am really liking ASP 2.
I have an issue which I am not sure of this i just "how it is" or if it is specific to my installation.
Autolevel in the "Standard" tab is completely unusable.
Every time I use it it makes the image far too contrasty and saturated.
This is new with ASP, in Bibble, I used Autolevels all the time.
To make it a bit more odd, APS can read some of the edits I did back in Bibble, and when it opens those files the one setting it always finds in the autolevels setting, and when it does these old images the Autolevels looks as it should, excellent clarity and no clipping or over saturation.
I can use the "autolevel" button to turn off these old settings and go back to unedited RAW, then, and here's the confirmation that this is a new problem, when I click on autolevel again, I don;t get to go back to the well adjusted setting from before, I get the new ASP2 super high contrast clipped over saturated mess instead.
I have tweeked with the "percentage settings " that were default to 0.200, but this has no effect on the results. any setting lower then 0.003 has no effect at all, but set to 0.003 the instant clipping and over staration are full foce just as they are with a setting of 0.200
Is this just my install or is this a problem for all?
FYI no other adjustments made, only autolevel used to get this result.
Jake

Re: Autolevel Oddities in ASP 2 too much contrst
I have avoided the Autolevel as the plague all the time since Bibble 4. It's always been too contrasty for my taste with all the different cameras I have used, and it sometimes also responds uncontrollable when I use some of the other tools or setting later in the process. If I need some automation on the curve/contrast I use the Color>Curves>AutoContrast. This gives me the ability to have more control on the process, and I can ajust the black- and whitepiont and gamma if it needs more tweaking after I have clicked the AutoContrast.
I like to have the Color>Curves panel pinned. That way I can have it open and available all the time...

Thank you Arnfinn!
Both for the advice, and to confirm that I don't have an isolated problem. Much appreciated.

Re: Autolevel Oddities in ASP 2 too much contrast
For what it is worth, the latest version appears to have slightly less aggressive Autolevels!
And I can undock the left panel now!
thank you team!
