VS9 Max Filter

Post by peacecore »

I've been using VideoStudio since version 6, but have started recently using version 9 with photo's rather then home movies.

At the moment I can only use a maximum of 17 Video Filters. If I use any more then the rendering process goes up to the 18th filter and stops rendering!!!. The program doesn't crash or complain.

Has anyone else had this problem?

Sorry, but it has just never occurred to me to use more than one or two filters at any one time, let alone use source material that was either so bad or quirky that more than one or two filters were necessary! But I am intrigued and would love to hear why you think you need to use so many??? Or do you mean that you have used 17 filters on 17 separate parts of your video and that the burning module spat the dummy when it got to the part where the 18th filter was used?

How did you know that the rendering is in the process of converting the 1st, 2nd, 3rd... to 18th filters?

Hi Guys,

There isn't any video footage on the film!!

When somebody leave where I work I do a little joke music video for them. This comprises of hundreds of photos showing peoples mouths opening and closing.

The reason I use so many filters is for effects (i.e. Colour Balance to show different disco effects).

When you do render the film you can see it rendering on screen, and just before it gets the the 18th filter, this is when it stops rendering :!: .

Hi Peacecore,

Just a suggestion... if you want to apply effects that you might obtain from multiple use of video filters... Why not in the first instance process your stills in a Picture Editor like PhotoImpact for example..? or similar program... Which are especially equipped for that very purpose..
That way you can build up your picture, saving at the various stages and thus not overburdening the program's resources. You could then finally insert your pics into VS and set about creating a slide show with minimum use of the filter tools..

Best wishes
George

Hi George,

Thank you for your help, I'll look into using Photoimpact until the vs9 filter but is fixed.

Regards,

Peace
