Pentax K3-II Raw files not working

Hi,

I just changed my camera to the latest Pentax camera and I noticed that the files produced can't be opened by AfterShot Pro 2.
I usually shoot in PEF and realised it was not working.
Both the PEF and the DNG produced by the camera are failing during importation apparently linked to the EXIF data.

I understand that this is a fairly new model but the files shouldn't be too different from the K3 files.
Some other software are able to read them but I'd rather stick with AfterShot Pro having used it for quite some time and really enjoying it.

It seems to be coming from the EXIF so I hope this is not a big problem and can be fixed soon.

The same issue here. Brand new Pentax K3-II raw files (DNG) are not imported. ASP version 2.2.0.29...

Other software works well with these raw-files.

According to the error message (loading EXIF failed) there is a difference between K3 and K3-II EXIF info. The main difference between these two Pentax models in EXIF is the presence of GPS data. I suspect GPS to be the cause. I hope ASP can fix this soon.

BTW I also enjoy ASP, so I have to be patient. In the meantime I will look for a workaround (like removing GPS from EXIF)

I just got a K-3 II and have also now run into this issue; I'm loving Aftershot Pro (2.2.0.29 x64) but it will not recognise my K-3 II's DNG files straight out of the camera.

I have a cludgy workaround for now; I'm using exiftool at the command line to copy across the EXIF data from a standard K-3 file. That allows me to edit. I've managed to get it to retain some of the original information - I could get more with more tinkering, but this will do for now.

The command I'm using in exiftool is:
exiftool -TagsFromFile -overwrite_original GoodTags.dng --Orientation --FocalLength --FNumber --ISO --ExposureTime --DateTimeOriginal --CreateDate IMGP*.dng

(GoodTags.dng is the filename of the K-3 (not II) file. The '--' additions retain the K-3 II files' Orientation, Focal Length, ISO, Exposure Time and Date settings.)

Can anyone from Corel let us know when an update will be out which fully supports the K-3 II?

I have the same problem.

This is what I got from Corel CS.

A. Please be advised that Pentax K3-II was not yet supported by the AfterShot Pro 2 that's why the program wasn't able to open the file.
B. I apologize for your frustration. I will inform our engineers and developers about your issue as a valuable customer of Corel, and yes we will let you informed once it has been supported. Thank you for your understanding.

If anybody has any update or solution pleas post.
This has rendered the use of the camera limited.
Shoot in JPG or buy a different software from competitor.

I've installed 2.4.0.119 (64 bit) on Windows 10 and while it appears to produce previews (progress bar with count appears under directory listing) nothing is shown in the preview strip.

Clicking on a file in File Explorer and chosing to open with After Shot Pro produces a blank After Shot Pro workspace. It doesn't show any sign of having opened the file "invisibly" - no metadata, no file name, nothing other than the blank workspace.

Files are .PEF from K3 II - Lightroom (local install, v6.x) and DXO Optics Pro (v10) can both open the files so I cant see it's an issue with the files.

PC is Fujitsu P901:- quad core i7-3770, Intel HD4000 built in graphics controller, 16 GB RAM, 500GB free disk space (of 1GB Samsung 840SSD), Windows 10 64 bit Version 1511, Build 10586.104 (clean install, not upgrade), patched to date. Nothing untoward in the event logs; nothing related to ASP.

This is on both an upgraded ASP and a clean install of 2.4.0.119

I just purchased ASP and I'm having the same issue with DNG files generated by a DJI P3 Drone. Corel PSP opens the DNG files just fine. But I get the same blank workspace in ASP. Please advise.
