HI All
I am still getting used to operating VideoStudio X7 Ultimate. One thing I am trying to do is to open video files that are already on my hard drive. They have been there for years but I would like to update and re-edit them with the new software. The files formats are mostly .vob, with some mpeg4. Some were originally edited in Adobe Premier Elements. I click on import media from drive, a list appears I click on Videos, then select the folder/file I wish to import but the 'OK' button at the bottom of the list is not highlighted therefore I cannot select it. This is happening on all the videos on my hdd. I am wondering if the issue is that I am using a two hdd system, drive c contains software while drive e contains my data files, documents, music, photos videos etc. Is this where my problem lies??
System info is:-
Windows 7 pc
Video Studio Ultimate version 17.1.0.22
I hope someone out there can give some advice as I am not sure I look forward to re loading all my old videos.
Many thanks for reading this.

Re: import media from hard drive
You are using terms I don't recognise " import media from drive," where are you finding that - nearest I know is "Import Media files" in the libraries or "Insert Video" in the timeline.
Once the browse window opens are you then selecting actual video files (not vobs) not just a folder.
try changing the extension of a vob file from .vob to .mpg - will Videostudio import it then ?

Re: import media from hard drive
I doubt that's your issue. You could have 10 separate hdd with files on them, with your Operating System and software program on the C: drive and you'd be able to pull files off all of them.AnnieMaca wrote:HI All

.
It may be that .vob is not a supported file type in VS. .vob files are usually files that have been ripped from a DVD and may not be editable anyway.

And if the clips are already on the computer drives somewhere, then you don't use "Import" anyway. You simply right click on the timeline and choose 'Insert video", browse to the drive, and select the clips you want to open.

Re: import media from hard drive
Hi
If most are Vob files use the Import Digital Media option
View my guide the details there may help
http://lata.me.uk/corel/import/import.htm
The Vobs will be imported as Mpeg2 files.
For most other formats, right click the timeline and select Insert Video – browse the hard drive for your files.

Re: import media from hard drive
If you have vob's, then convert them to mpg with VOB2MPG software - then no problems. The software is free and obtainable at videohelp.com
