I assume that's supposed to be 10122, as that is the latest build. There was no 10012 build.Greg Wood wrote:-Microsoft Windows 10: Compatible with the latest Windows 10 Technical Preview (version 10012)

Re: PaintShop Pro X7 Service Pack 3 Now Available for Downlo
Wonderful, so many bugs were fixed in this release that I can't believe my eyes ... Paint Shop Pro is finaly out of bugs now, a great day, thank you Corel, good job
Re: PaintShop Pro X7 Service Pack 3 Now Available for Downlo
The download of PSP X7 SP3 failed for me so I downloaded it manually. The Service pack applied fine on my Windows 8.1 system but now every time the program launches it still tries to download the Service Pack and when it fails another dialog is displayed with a link to download it from the web!
Please can someone tell me how to stop these annoying dialogs from appearing. I've searched the forum, online, looked at the registry for something obvious and finally the applications settings all to no avail!
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you

I don't know if this will work, but you could try unchecking the option for the program to check for updates.

Re: PaintShop Pro X7 Service Pack 3 Now Available for Downlo
Many thanks Joe. I had already tried that but eventually solved it by allowing the download to succeed and installing the update. It was annoying because I don't have very fast download speeds and had already manually downloaded the service pack to be in more control and in case it was needed again in the future.

Re: PaintShop Pro X7 Service Pack 3 Now Available for Downlo
I'm quite disapointed: No Canon eos 760D in the RAW cameralist. When can I expect that?
Re: PaintShop Pro X7 Service Pack 3 Now Available for Downlo
I've had problems after every update. Searching through these posts the favorite answer of most all to a complaint is that it must be your system cause the rest of us have no problems. I'm sorry, but my system is the same as it's always been, and things worked before.
Anyways, I have 2 problems. 1. Things just stop working for no reason I can see. Different things at different times, but mostly, the text. When you type text and try to convert it to a layer, sometimes it doesn't work. The button is greyed out. 2. After the last Service Pack install, I have trouble with selections. It takes up to 5 minutes to paste something into a selection. It takes just as long if you try to apply a filter to a selection.
I have used PSP since version 4, I believe, and I've always sworn by the program even after paying big bucks for Photoshop. I doubt I will upgrade to a newer version. Sorry.

Re: PaintShop Pro X7 Service Pack 3 Now Available for Downlo
Your may think that your system might be the same as it has always been but PSP isn't, and it's different again with each patch or update. Also, with any and every installation of any kind your system changes. Also, when you work with different programs some files sometimes get created in temp folders (your User>Appdata and it's sub-folders temp files are one place where these temp files change) and sometimes they don't get removed when not needed and can cause issues. At the very least they also represent a change to your system, particularly if they happen to be program files. Anti-virus software and firewalls are regularly reading from and/or writing to the hard drive, so even its contents are changing on a regular basis. The only time your system is the same as it's always been is if you haven't used it since whenever "it's always been" is.sallymae wrote:I've had problems after every update. One of the reasons the answer to many complaints is that it is likely system specific is because the problem being reported (such as the one in your post about taking 5 minutes to paste into a selection) is such an egregious, almost disabling problem that if it was happening to a great number of people we - and Corel - would be receiving a great multitude of complaints. Paintshop Pro has a userbase of upwards of 3 million people, and many tens of thousands of them likely now use X7 without reporting these serious problems. So when such major problems are reported by a miniscule number of users (only one so far in this particular case) the logical conclusion is that it is not an issue with the program per se but some combination of the program and how it installed and is integrated and cooperating with the system on which it is exhibiting the problem.
Sorry about that, but it's just the reality when it comes to software and the millions of different computer hardware and software system variations - and not one single system in the world is exactly identical to any other. Just a thought.

JoeB

Re: PaintShop Pro X7 Service Pack 3 Now Available for Downlo
Sorry, I should also have tried to help with your specific problem - definitely my bad!
Given the severity of the issue you describe, I can only suggest that you start by uninstalling PSP using the specific tools provided in the sticky post near the top of this forum - don't use Add/Remove programs to do this, and make sure that any resources you downloaded or created yourself (i.e., resources that don't install with the PSP installation) are in folders separate from the PSP installation folders before uninstalling. Then scan for viruses and Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUP's). My suggested software for these operations are Malwarebytes, Hitman Pro and Adaware, all of which have free versions (at least free for a period of time). Run all three. Then download a new installation package of X7 and install it. The package will likely only include SP1 and, if so, will want to automatically update to SP2. Let it do so.
Once installed, test PSP before you do any customization, including before you set file locations, and see if the problem(s) still persists. If things are good to go, then download SP3 and install it manually. It never hurts to reboot your system after installing any software prior to using the software, although many think this is not necessary so you might consider rebooting after the initial installation and then after installing SP3. Test again. Then please report back if you still have issues.
If PSP works OK after doing the above, you can start your customization if that's something you do. When adding new file locations for your resources, test PSP for those problems you had after adding each separate new location.
While it's only a wild guess, I would wonder if perhaps some resource file that is not native to the PSP installation might be causing your issues, particularly some resource that uses scripts.

I don't understand the comments you make about entering text; what do you mean about converting to a layer and what button is greyed out?sallymae wrote: . . . . .Anyways, I have 2 problems. 1. Describe the steps when you "paste into a selection".
Posting such problems as part of this thread is not very likely to generate advice. I suggest you start a separate thread about your problems and describe, step-by-step what you do and what you observe. Chances are someone can very quickly resolve your problem.
