This is only the second project I've undertaken with VS7. The first project resulted in a perfect 2 hour high def blu ray disc so I had high hopes that I'd found some really great intuitive software.
However my second project has been frustrating. There are pixelated blocky "glitches" often just after transition points perhaps over no more that 3 or 4 frames. I've only watched the first ten minutes of the 50 minute disc as yet as it's so annoying. Footage is highest quality interlaced, from a Panasonic sd90 camcorder (as previous project) and shows NO glitches when played in the program viewing window.
I saved the project to a blu ray folder and burnt to TDK blu ray disc via Img Burn. I haven't altered any settings in either VS or Img burn, as far as I know. The only difference to the first project is that this time I didn't create a menu and that project 1 was burned to blu ray on a separate computer.
I deleted and re-made the blu ray folder, burned another disc but the same glitches appear and in exactly the same place. Any help or advice much appreciated.

Hi
And welcome to the forums.
A little strange that we have had a few posts regarding quality immediately after transitions.
Render the project using Share – Same as first clip, assuming your video is the first,
Deselect Smart Render then press start, does that get rid of those twitches
Please right click one of your video files and provide the properties
Also have you matched your project properties the same as your video files properties.

Re: VideoStudio Ultimate X7- blu ray glitches
Thanks for coming back Trevor. Firstly, before reading your response I watched the m2ts file directly from the created blu ray folder on my hard drive and on my PC - NO GLITCHES!!!!
So I blamed ImgBurn, or rather my operation of the program.
Thought I'd possibly messed up some of the burn settings so I re-burned a fourth disc at 2x speed (rather than auto) and also checked other settings against web based advice. Dam it - another coaster for my collection - same problem at the same points in the playback.
I didn't know about "project settings", when I checked them it was set to "DVD", so I've set it to AVCHD 1920x1080 to match the camcorder. I'll also de-select smart render as you advise and try again- I'll keep you posted later as I have to go out for a while.
Talking of project settings does that mean one cannot combine different file types from different cam sources when making a dvd or blu ray disc?
Thanks again, Phil.

Re: VideoStudio Ultimate X7- blu ray glitches
Hi Phil
You are best to set the project properties to match the video files properties, that way the timeline is set to the correct frame rate and frame size, set to DVD would reduce the preview window quality to standard definition.
Go to Settings – Preferences – tick Show Messages.
Start a new project and add one of your video files, you should get a panel asking you to match the properties, view the details, copy and paste the right text (video Properties) to your post.
Select Yes to close the panel and your properties will be set correctly.
Once you have rendered the project to a AVCHD / Bluray compliant video file, the problem would be embedded there, I doubt that Img Burn would add anything
This poster had a similar problem………..
http://forum.corel.com/EN/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=56550
Recommended workflow….
1 / finish editing
2 / Share - same properties as your original, (create your own template if you wish) however 25fps should be used. That should create a compliant Bluray file.
3 / play to check quality
4 / Start a new project
5 / Share – Create Disc – Bluray – Add video File created in 2 above – create menu – burn Bluray Folder, there should be no further conversion of the main video file (no Convert Title)
When you hit Burn the process should start with Convert Menu
6 / Use Image Burn to burn your disc

Re: VideoStudio Ultimate X7- blu ray glitches
Well it gets better and better (?), I'm on my 5th disc with still the same problems when viewing. Today the project will not load from the .VSP file. No error message, nothing.
Previous project loads OK by the way.
When I go to the SHARE tab, and select "blu ray" the project appeared briefly than there was a windows error message which closed the program.
Tried again, cannot load as previous in EDIT tab, went to SHARE tab - this time no project, searched for the .VSP file which was pronounced "empty" despite a 1.3Mb file.
I think I give up.....

Hi
If you are having problems burning a disc then you should first render the project to a compliant video file, using that to burn the disc, as I mentioned in my last reply.
Allowing the burner module to render the project can cause some problems.
