Audio from Single Microphone?

Post by Slarty Bartfast »

I'm editing a long series of 90 minute lectures that are recorded using a single mic. The videographer didn't use a Y-adapter, so the resulting audio exists only on the left channel. I'm new to Pro X8, and read through the relevant section of the manual, but I can't find how to convert left channel stereo to either mono, or two-channel stereo.

What's the recommended way to achieve mono with Pro X7?

WHICH PROGRAMME ARE YOU USING

You have said both X7 and X8 in your question - and yet you have written NONE in the Corel Programme box of you profile - are you using Corel VideoStudio ??

Both X7 and X8 have the same option to Duplicate a mono audio channel to the other channel. As Lata says, Open the sound mixer, click on to Attributes and you will see Duplicate, Tick the box then chose whether to copy Left channel to right or Right to left.
I used to be indecisive. Now I'm not so sure.

It's X8. Sorry, spastic finger.

I see how it works now. Thank you.
