Some sites giving hexa colors :
http://www.color-hex.com/
http://www.w3schools.com/tags/ref_colorpicker.asp
or make a Google search with "hexacolors".

Thanks, Jean-Luc. However, I think I've determined that none of the values available in this reg modification will achieve my objective, which originally was to be able to change the color of the main workspace in PSPX (the space shown in the screenshot of your PSP that is marked MDIClientBackground). To come to my conclusion I did the easiest thing I could think of - that is, I changed EVERY value from top to bottom of the modified reg file with a dword value for the medium grey color that is the default medium grey in PSPX (hex value for the registry: 00707070) and then merged it with the registry editor. I have attached a screenshot (Modified_light_workspace_colors) of the resultant workspace color. You'll note that a good majority of the elements in the workspace changed to the desired grey, but neither the main workspace nor the dropdown effects menu changed to my chosen color. So it is obvious that those values are not in the modified reg file and are being controlled by the default workspace colors embedded in the program. So unless there are values for these items that CAN be written into the modified reg file, then my task doesn't seem possible.

I have also attached another image file (Manage_tab_with_dark_workspace_colors), this one a screenshot of the Manage tab in my PSPX7 when I am using my normal Dark workspace. The strange thing (to me) is that the background color of the preview window where thumbnails would be displayed IS actually a medium grey color, the color I want for the workspace within the Edit tab. If that can be a working window color in the Manage tab when the workspace color chosen is Dark, then you'd think that it could be the workspace color for the working window in the Edit tab also!

EDIT: After a bit more research, I have come to the conclusion (based on my admittedly near-zero knowledge of the subject :-) ) that (a) the background color of the main workspace window is NOT controlled by any registry entry at all and (b) cannot be changed by the user. The reason I believe this to be the case is that I suspect that the particular color is embedded in the program by the compiler and defined in the MDI (Multiple Document Interface) Library, not defined by a registry string and value. If that is correct then Corel would have to program to allow user changes to that MDI Client window, just like they allow the user to change the background color of the MDI Child windows (the windows our images appear in when opened in the workspace) by selecting Background Color in the View menu. That does still leave the question of whether or not it is, in fact, possible to give the user control over the Client window at all, although obviously they can have some control with the Child windows.

So if I'm anywhere near on the right track with the above, then one can only hope Corel can, and in that case will, provide that option in either further releases or, even better, with an update patch to X7 because I wouldn't go for a new version just for that option. :-)

This forum has a quirk! When adding more than one attachment to a post, you have to add them in the reverse order that you want them to appear!

That's if you accept the default. But you will notice there is also a button to "Place in-line" the attachment. The links to the images then appear *before* your message starts, and you can copy and paste them wherever you want, and in whatever order, within your post.

Hi JoeB,
Nobody from Corel did tell us what are the terms to put inside the .reg file. We received no informations from Corel about this possibility.
On the French group, we have worked by ourself and we don't tell ALL possible entries were found by us.
It is experimental and we would receive more infos about this feature.

Well, you people in the French group have done very well with this as it is, and it was certainly a learning experience for me! :-)

I would add that in previous versions of Windows, it was possible to modify the colors of the interface like the background color, etc. This possiblity was removed in Windows 8 due to a Microsoft search for compatibility between different supports (smartphones, tablets, etc.). Customization of Microsoft Windows is limited today.

Just another observation...

On the screen shot in a previous message (my screen shot with red colors), you will see that the toolbars on the left show 2 colors, like a gradient.
In the workspaces proposed by Corel in PSP X7, such gradients are not visible. Toolbars have a "flat" look (no gradient).
I prefer a gradient look.

Yes, I might try adding that gradient look on the Dark workspace color of X7 when I have a bit more time to play with it. Looks like that wouldn't be too difficult to do with the registry file. Thanks for the reminder.
