Hello!
I have PSP X4. As the subject states my floating crop tools doesn't have a square option. The only options it has are in inches and cm and not one of them is a square. Is there a way I can get the "square" to show?
Thanks!

Re: Floating Crop Tool missing square option...
You're saying that you want a square preset crop thingy.
Open an image, select the crop tool and open the tool options palette (menu View/Palettes/tool options -or- F4)
On the options palette, enter a square width and height. If you want you can change the units from inches, centimeters and pixels.
So with a square, say 100×100, click on Maintain Aspect Ratio. That way, when you drag a corner or side of the crop marker to expand or contract it, it will stay square.
Save this preset: Click on the Presets t button of the toolbar, leftmost. Click on the Save Preset (top) button of the drop down palette, give it a meaningful (for you) name. It will be added to the preset button and the drop down selector on the floating toolbar.

Ah thank you! I've done things like that for pallet size but didn't realize I could do it for this. Is there a way to just get it to make a square on whatever size image I have? I know older versions used to have "square" and "rectangle" as a choice and it would just adapt to whatever size image was open.

I know this doesn't help you now but they brought that option back. Here's what X7's crop options look like.
PSPX9 | PSP2020 | PSP2021| PSP2022 | PSP2023 & PhotoMirage installed; PSPX | PSPX2 thru PSP2019 owned but not installed
