Hi Frédéric

If you upgrade to VS 9 the AC 3 plug-in is included.

VS 9 is worth upgrading to.
The money spent on the ac3 plug-in will be put to much better use by upgrading.

Using VS 8 I found the plug-in to be somewhat unstable, I had to reinstall a few times.
With VS 8 you cannot capture to AC3, using VS 9 you can.

Just to give you an idea of the costs: to buy the AC-3 module for VS 8 would be US$29.95. But to upgrade to VS9 which has AC-3 support included, is only $20 extra at US$49.95 -- and like Trevor, I think this is very much worthwhile.

I have a Sony 201, and originally bought the AC-3 plugin. As far as I can tell the AC-3 plugin has been removed from the U.S site and the Asia-Pacific site but apart from that it makes much more sense to just upgrade to VS9. I have just done it and although I haven't had a chance to play too much yet it looks great. One feature you will like is that the "Import DVD" function that you will use becuase of you cam has been added to the "capture" screen.

You can directly purchase the AC3 plug-in here:

However, we still suggest that you consider VS9.
